What is Seen & Heard?

Seen and Heard is a collaboration between Deer Crossing the Art Farm and Youth Voices, an initiative of the BC Family Justice Innovation Lab

The project title says it all. If you are a child or youth experiencing separation or divorce, you have the right to be seen and heard – by your parents, your aunts and uncles, your grandparents, your friends, and ALSO by lawyers, judges, mediators, counsellors and any of the myriad professional roles that make up the Family Justice system.

We have set up this site, and developed a mobile art installation, to provide a platform for your stories, ideas, and visions for the future.

We want to increase the opportunities for children and youth, like you, to express your voices both at home and in the family justice system. We want to raise awareness about the importance AND benefits of listening and acting on your voices.  We want to create a community of support that builds resilience for and supports the well-being of children and youth, like you, who are experiencing separation and divorce.

This project is just the beginning. If you're interested in joining our Youth Voices team, learn more about us here!
